When I moved here to japan of course I was not able to take with me all of my clothes and after giving birth to my daughter my lifestyle completely changed, once again I found myself giving away many of my clothes (some I regret, but I will post about it later) So I was left with a very small wardrobe at the time.
It’s been a year and half since then and my closet grew a little trough gifts and things I got for myself I thought I needed, somehow despite the grow I was starting to get frustrated thinking that I have nothing to wear, that’s when I though it’s time to put thing to perspective and right on time I discovered the 10×10 challenged which consist of wearing 10 items of clothing for ten days.
Here is a link explaining more about the challenge: https://www.stylebee.ca/10-x-10-challenge/
This challenge was drastic at least for me, but it was also short that’s why it occurred to me that it would be the perfect challenge at this moment in time … husband was coming late, my toddler was asleep, so I new I had at least one hour and half to try on some combinations which is wasn’t enough time to be honest since by the second day I started to worry that the combinations and the items I choose we not flexible enough for 10 outfits.
despite my scare we are now in the 10th day and I managed to pull off 10 outfits as planned, each morning I woke up and in two minutes I was ready… such a great feeling really!
Although by the 10th day I was ready to move on since I did grew tired of wearing those same thigns and I already had in mind wearing them with different items in my wardrobe something that I highly anticipated for… I really can’t wait!
Through this challenge I learned that I do better and feel more at ease dressing in the morning when I have a small amount of clothing into my disposal… although 10×10 challenge might be to small 30×30 or a seasonal capsule might be a better fit for my daily life.
If I ever find myself getting frustrated again with my wardrobe I might get into this challenge once again and discover how versatile our clothes can be, also important is that I don’t think anybody was noticing I was wearing the same things over and over again hehe
here are the items I chose for this challenge, it’s mostly neutral and blue the color that I think looks the best on me… despite being neutral I wanted some little color into this which I added with the brighter blue skirt and the red striped shirt and shoes, my accessoires are always a watch and recently a headband, to add some texture I chose my usual one that is stripes, as you can tell i took the easy route with a little tiny twist … not too crazy haha
